Andreas has a MSc in Marine Coastal Development (Dept. of Biology, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim). His master thesis revolved around developing a protocol for fulfilling the advanced life-cycle of the red algae genus Porphyra spp. in a controlled laboratory environment. The thesis was made in collaboration with SINTEF and was a part of the project “Cultivation and processing of macroalgae of high quality for new food products”. Andreas joined the team in spring 2018, after years of work within the field, both as an intern at SES and as seaweed hatchery manager in western part of Norway. He also has broad experience with sea works and in the educational sector, as well as 10 years of experience from running a supply company within the immunohistochemistry business. Andreas is responsible for the daily hatchery operations, as well as assisting in sea operations and technology development. Andreas speaks Norwegian, English and Spanish.
