Diogo has a MSc in Animal Production Engineering (Higher Institute of Agronomy, Lisboa, Portugal). During graduation, he worked regularly in an organic dairy sheep farm, under a pasture and forage based livestock system (Fertiprado Group, Portugal). He has a specialization in Aquaculture and spent one year in Brazil on an academic internship, focusing on seaweed cultivation and Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (University of Rio Grande do Norte, Natal). Diogo joined SES in 2013, when he first experienced setting up and running a large-scale seaweed hatchery in Denmark. Now, based in Trondheim (Norway), he follows the seaweeds all the way from seeding to harvest: running the hatchery for our cultivation and working regularly at the seafarm, as well as developing sea farming technology – farm design, deployment and harvest techniques. He speaks Portuguese and English.
