Luiza is a marine biologist with an MSc in Marine Environmental Management from the University of York (UK). She was previously involved in projects on environmental impact studies, conservation and awareness, and management of marine resources in the Cayman Islands, the Maldives, Egypt and across the South Pacific. Luiza joined SES in 2011 in Lisbon, to coordinate biological activities for the company in Portugal, as well as between Portugal and Norway. Since then she has led the company's environmental work and monitoring programs in both countries, from Lisbon to Tromsø, working to improve productivity at sea, and expand deployment and harvest windows; gaining extensive practical experience with seaweed cultivation. Now based in Trondheim (Norway) she runs Seafarm Quality Control for the Pilot farm, advises partners on EIA matters for seaweed farming and gives introduction courses on cultivation. She is also responsible for Seaforestation projects. Luiza speaks Portuguese, English, French, Spanish and is practicing her Norwegian.
